Watch the training first. Then scroll down and build your own five soundbites right here on this page. Take it at your pace.
The StoryBrand soundbite strategy, start to finish. When you're ready, your builder is one scroll away.
You're great at what you do, but these four things are...
When your message makes the brain work hard, people quietly move on. When it's clear, they lean in. Here's the difference.
"I use an integrative process rooted in emotional realignment for passionate executive leaders."
"Feel stuck in your career? I can help burned out executives figure out what's next."
Five short, plain-spoken lines that take your client from a problem to peace. You write each one yourself. Nothing is auto-generated, and that's what makes it sound like you. Fill them in and watch your story come together on the right. The simpler they sound, the harder they work.
This is what gets their attention. Start with the problem they're already living with, not the solution you offer. Name it in their words.
Act as a StoryBrand messaging coach. My ideal client is [describe them]. In one short, plain sentence, name the problem they're already feeling and would say out loud. No jargon. Make it sound like something they'd think when they wake up, not marketing language.
This builds trust. It tells them you've been in that room and you know what it's like. Say it the way a real person would out loud.
My client's problem is: [paste your problem soundbite]. Write one short empathy line that shows I understand how that feels. Warm and human, like a trusted friend, not a therapist or a brochure. It can start with "I get it."
Not everything you do. Not your full method. Just a plain sentence about the solution. You're the guide throwing a rope down to your client.
Here's what I do: [describe your offer in a few sentences]. Boil it down to ONE plain sentence about how I help, starting with "I help you" or "I give you." Cut the methodology and the features. Just the simple solution to my client's problem.
A shift in confidence, identity, or momentum. Describe who your client is on the other side, not just the result they get.
My client starts out feeling: [paste your problem soundbite]. After working with me, who do they become? Write one short line about the identity or confidence shift, not just the result. Plain and human.
The better future. The life they actually want. Keep it specific and human. This is their version of a happy ending.
Write one short, specific line describing the happy ending my client wants after solving this problem: [paste your problem soundbite]. Make it feel like real life, not a marketing promise. Something they'd actually daydream about.
A strong soundbite passes all four. From the StoryBrand messaging framework. Read your five lines out loud, then check each rule they clear. This isn't a score to impress anyone. It's a gut check for clarity.
Read these five lines in order. They should tell one clear story a stranger could follow.
That's the hard part, done. Grab them now so they're yours to keep. The next section shows you where to put them.
Copy them to paste anywhere, or download them as a file. Do this now so you always have them.
Your soundbites do one job: grab the right person's attention the first time they meet you. Don't overthink it. Put them anywhere someone bumps into you for the first time.
Lead with your Problem line as the big headline, then your Answer right underneath it.
Open with your Problem and Answer so a stranger understands you in one line.
Say your Problem, then your Answer. Skip the job title.
Use your Problem line as the opening hook anywhere people first hear from you.
For more than 20 years I've helped brands like Nike and Adidas tell clearer stories. Now I help coaches, consultants, and service providers say what they do in a way that gets the right clients to lean in.
